Thrust Specific Fuel Consumption (TSFC) is a measurement used for jet aircraft to measure the efficiency of jet engines. It is a function of Axial thrust, and fuel consumption. g0 is the gravitational constant.

TSFC

Since we will also be finding axial thrust we need only to measure the rate of fuel consumption in order to calcualate our TSFC. This is done with a WeighMax counting scale that has RS232 output. Our fuel tank's weight is recorded about 3 times per second and from this we are able to understand how fuel use varies with RPM and construct a graph of TSFC as a function of RPM.
